Get Your Laptop Online Anywhere There is Cellular Service

Get your laptop online wirelessly, no coffee shop required!

Over the past several years, the major cellular carriers have been beefing up their networks for one of the hottest technology trends around today. Vendors like Verizon Wireless, Sprint PCS, AT&T, and T-Mobile have all invested millions of dollars in providing cellular towers across the country so that you can get a cell signal in almost any decently populated areas. Competition is fierce, and each carrier is looking for some kind of value-added service or function to entice customers to switch to their service.

Cellular carriers allow you to get online from your laptop computer using one of their "air cards", sometimes known as a PC Card or Broadband Card. These cards plug into the PCMCIA slot on your laptop (almost all laptops have a PCMCIA slot) or your USB port, and as long as you can pick up a decent signal from the carrier's cell tower, you can get online with your laptop and a manufacturer-specific air card.

AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Alltel all offer PC connection cards for wireless Internet. With these carriers, you can get the "data-only" plan separate from that carrier's voice/cell service plans.
