FlexTelONE Calling Card FAQ

Are all system access numbers toll free?

All system access numbers are issued to be toll free however, local telephone companies in each of the countries where CST has International Access Numbers can control how and where our International Access Numbers can be used within their borders. Some countries can block them from being dialed. Some hotels will incur separate charges for using their telephones. Some payphones may charge or restrict the service from being used. The same applies for mobile phone providers.

How will I be billed for calls made?

This card is not prepaid. Payments are billed to your credit card automatically. The code issued comes with an initial $25 usage limit. If you do not use your entire limit, we charge your card at the end of each month for the amount used. Users may request a higher usage limit for the code that has more than $25 of monthly usage. Usage limits greater than $100 will require an additional credit application.

What type of credit cards do you accept for payment?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Can I personalize my access code?

For security protection for both the customer as well as CST, access codes cannot be personalized. This may contribute to fraud as some customers choose a code which is easy to remember for them, therefore opening the door to fraudulent activity.

Can I have more than one access code on my account?

Yes, you can provision your additional calling card pins using your web manager on your secure account management page.

How do the limits work?

Whenever you come within 90 percent of your limit your FlexTelONE account is MARKED to be charged. Your card will not be charged right away. CST processes credit card charges several times in a day. Payment processing can take up to 8 hours. If a user on your account exceeds his limit before we can charge your account, only that particular code will be temporarily deactivated until payment has been processed successfully. To avoid temporary deactivation we strongly suggest that you increase your access code limit to the estimated monthly usage amount. In addition, if your access code limit is too low you may end up with multiple charges to your credit card for a single month.

Will I be cut off if I reach my limit?

You will receive a prompt after dialing your destination number indicating the amount of minutes available after you have placed your phone call. You will also receive a 2 minute warning, then a 1 minute warning prior to disconnection. Charging times occur every 4 to 6 hours. You will want to adjust your limit with reference to the time and rate of the country you will be traveling to.

How do I increase my limit?

You can manage your access code by logging into your On-Line Account Administration web page and selecting the - Increase Access limits - menu option.

Is it a physical card?

The calling card service is a virtual calling card which means you will only receive emailed instructions for using the service.

Is there a commitment time as a customer?

No, you can cancel your account at any time.

What are the billing increments?

All FlexTelONE calls are billed in 6 second increments, with a 60 second minimum.

Are there any monthly fees or hidden costs?

No, there are no monthly fees or hidden costs. However, there are two taxes that CST is required by law to charge. The first is a 3% Federal Excise Tax charged to US residents only. This is based on the monthly invoiced amount. The second is a 11.1% Universal Service Fund Tax charged to all telecommunications customers. This is based on the monthly invoiced amount.

If you advertise 5.9¢ per minute, why are you charging me 6¢ for a one minute call?

Unfortunately, the price will be rounded up to the nearest cent due to us being unable to collect exactly 5.9 cents. If you were to make a 10 minute call, then the rate would compute to exactly 59¢.
